Avis A. Vescovi

ORANGE- Avis Ann (Smith) Vescovi, 64, passed away peacefully at home on Friday (6-30-2017) surrounded by family and friends, after a courageous battle with cancer.  

She was born in Greenfield, MA in April 1953. 

She is survived by her loving husband David J. Vescovi of nearly 46 years; her mother Judith (Smith) Otto of Deerfield; four  sons, David J. Vescovi Jr. and his wife, Joyce, of Burleson, TX, John Vescovi and his wife, Kena, of Orange, Michael Vescovi and  his wife, Marissa, of Athol, and Andrew Vescovi and his wife, Jill, of Orange. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Nicole Winship, Annastasia Vescovi, Quinnten Vescovi, Christina Vescovi, Madalyn Vescovi, Emma Vescovi, Hannah Miner, Austin Miner, and her beloved niece Renee (Muzyka) Cleveland.  She leaves behind her siblings Pat Smith, Judy (Otto) & Peter Egloff, Joe & Debbie Otto, John "Chuck" & Shelly Otto, David & Josie Otto as well as many nieces and nephews.

Avis was a loving and supportive mother to her sons and opened her home to their many friends. Later in life she attended Greenfield Community College where she graduated in 2009 with honors. She spent several years working with the Literacy Project of Orange.

She enjoyed camping, gardening, spending time with family and hosting gatherings as often as possible.

There will be no services at her request and a Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, July 30, 2017 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Athol American Legion, corner of Exchange and Pequiog, Athol.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to HealthAlliance Home Health & Hospice, 60 Hospital Road, Leominster, MA 01453.
