Johnny was a great guy who I only knew the last 7 years but was an inspiration to me and many of my fellow skydivers. He always had a smile on his face.
I got to be on his last skydive with him when he was 85! He truly was one of a kind and will be greatly missed by all of us at Jumptown! Blue skies...black death. RIP Johnny C!

I just learned of the passing of John, and am saddened at this news. I knew him for many years but did not get to see him for a long time. John was especially friendly with my brothers, who knew him as "Johnny Hook-Shot".

May this kind man rest peacefully and live in the memories of all of us who knew him.

So very sad to hear about John's passing. I have known him since I was a young girl.
He used to come to the Legion in Orange and play basketball with all the neighborhood
Kids. We all enjoyed his drawings and antics and magic tricks and funny rhymes he told us.
He was truly a friend to us all. I enjoyed seeing him later in life around town and even visited with him.  I have very fond memories of the times we shared.
