A special jewel he was, he will be remembered forever. Don't think I'll hear "dude" or "awesome" only to mention a few in the same way.

to the Flood Family

this is Keith from Church. you didnt know me very well, and I only knew Kyle these past 4 years but you have to know something.

I discovered a love and compassion for teens and youth ministry. I have felt what it would be like to have a younger brother. I discovered I want to dedicate my life to helping teens and a desire to have a son one day just like Kyle. He did a lot of that for me and so much more. You have to know what an incredable impact he had on me. I thought the world of Kyle. He is a saint in my book. I thank you so much for bringing him into this world and giving us all a chance to know such awesome goodness. I hope he knows how much he did for me. May God Bless Kyle so much and all of you. You are in my heart, and prayers.

I remember Kyle from his days with Pop Warner. He was a wonderful football player. He was one of the boys you looked forward to seeing at practice. Always eager to participate. He had a great sense of humor and was a real team leader. The world is a lesser place without him.
Kyle,
Thanks for the peanuts

Kyle and I have done many church things together. He was always there. He was always like a great younger brother to me. He inspired me to want to have kids one day of my own and he really inspired me to pursue youth ministry and dedicate my life to it. Kyle was one of the most amazing coolest people I have ever known. I cant believe he is gone. I too know what great loss is. My sister was killed when I was 16. My deepest thoughts and prayers are with Kyles family. My heart goes out to all of you. Dear Dave, Vickie and Cory,

I really only know you Dave, but the few times I did meet your family you all seem so genuinely nice. It takes a special family to raise a son that is as loved as Kyle was. I will pray for you Dave, Vickie, and Cory that God gives you the strength you need in this most trying time. Kyle doesn't need prayers, he is already sitting at the right hand of the Lord.
God Bless you all.

This poem has helped me in my life....I hope it helps you too.

It is a deep mystery
This matter of life and death....
That the same person
Who brought us a thousand joys
Can one day leave us shedding a thousand tears....
So suddenly, sometimes
that we grope blindly for words left unspoken
And for the hug we needed to give to say good-bye.
And we wonder,
How this thread that holds us all to life
Can be so thin and fragile....
Until one day, we find the courage to accept
That the living aren't meant to understand death,
Only to celebrate life,
And to remember that the only real death is forgetting.

May God Bless each and everyone of you.

I luckily had the privilege of knowing Kyle through football and this year the play. He was always great at everything he did and not afraid to be himself. Along with that he was one of the best friends anyone could have ever had. He will surly be missed by many.

Dear Vickie,
My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family at this hard time. "Condensed presence" is what Kyle has become. Enjoy that poetic description of lasting love. He is with you still in ways you are only beginning to sense. Grief is strange and unique. Take time to be sad, but focus on the many joys you gave Kyle. That's what he is doing now.

In Christ's love,

I was heartbroken to hear about Kyle. When I was a new student at Mahar & plenty of people gave me a hard time, he welcomed me, made me a Christmas card, and when I came into class every morning he genuinely wondered how my day was going. Very rarely do you find a teenager who was as special, caring, and talented as he was and I was lucky to have him as a peer. My prayers are thoughts are with you

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Flood and Cory,

I've had Kyle as a student in my art classes at Mahar; and last semester, he was one of my Coop students, helping me with a variety of hated tasks. Last Thursday, he finished the collage which Jim Woodward gave you.

I've read many of the comments about Kyle that are posted on line, and couldn't agree more about what a stand-out Kyle was around this school and in this community.

I know you'll never get over the loss of your son and brother and you probably wouldn't want to...I know this because my daughter died five years ago at age 20. It was two years after her death before I could get into my car, once in a while, without thinking of her and crying.

My faith in God has been the one thing that's saved me and, of course, the condolences of friends, family, and even strangers. This little prayer, that Sue Knight gave me, has given me strength. I still say it at least ten times a day. I'm hoping it will work for you too.

Lord Jesus, I need you.
I give you all my sorrows, worries, fears, and struggles.
Please help me to be the person you want me to be.

Sincerely, with sympathy,

Ellen Softic

Kyle was just one of those people. One of the people who can take any situation and make it better. He could make anyone smile just by being himself. I'll never forget his spirit and the ways that he made this world that much better. He used to sing in the halls and would talk to me when I was supposed to be doing my Mock Trial work. His passion for everything, including making our school better will never be replicated. Kyle would light up any room and everyone can learn a lesson just from him. He lived life to the fullest and made the most of everything. If I could ever be half as passionate, as loving, as selfless, and as supportive as Kyle then I know that my life would be complete.
Completely IRREPLACEABLE.

Kyle was a part of my life in two important ways. Most importantly he was a bestfriend to my step-brother Kyle Deane and my brother Benjamin Hause. I am very thankful that my brothers were able to have a friend as wonderful as Kyle in their lives. And secondly Kyle was a great friend of mine. Spending everyday with him at play rehearsals for Grease and Little Shop of Horrors has given me so many vivid and happy memories of Kyle and I thank him for always making me smile. He will live in the hearts of everyone who had the joy of knowing him. Thank You for being part of my family and I's lives Kyle.

Dear Kyle, You were a great person, and it amazes me how just one kid could touch everyones lives in such an amazing way, including the people that barely knew you, but you did it. You pulled it off. And that's what made you incredible. You always had your ways of making everyone smile and laugh even if they didn't want to. You lit up a room everytime you walked in. No one will ever forget you. You'll always be remembered. No one's life will ever be the same without you. Watch over us. We love and miss you. And you'll forever be in all of our hearts. I can't wait till we all meet again.

Some people make the world special by just being in it.
You entered, bringing light and life to all of us.
The vivid colors, painted with a swirl of wit, charm, personality,
Love and understanding.
With tender care, you added comfort, warmth, and images that line the now bright halls.
I look upon them fondly, bringing forth a thankfulness that you walked in these halls with me. Our friendship has become a part
of my world now.
It has its special place within my life and in my heart.
Your name hangs right beside your smiling face in my heart.
Remembering just how easley we can loose our way.
I have to thank YOU for the light, my friend.

Unfortunately only after his passing, did I realize that Kyle was from the "Amherst Floods" I knew his wonderful grandparents, and went to school with his father and uncle. The relationship is quite evident in the handome photo. I found out about this tragic event from my son, who is a freshman QB at Frontier. He was told by an aquaintance at Mahar. I only wish I had known of Kyle when I ventured to Mahar on a bone chilling night this fall. The name caught my eye but I said, "there's lots of Floods, what are the chances..." In any case my son Erik's friend, and Kyle's schoolmate, related to Erik what a wonderful young man he was. I can't imagine the pain the family is going through but my thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Kyle but know his mother to be a creative, funny, and smart woman. I look at Kyle's photograph and imagine he was a little like her, blessed with a vivid imagination and a sense of purpose. It is an unbearable lossa€"or, as Edna St. Vincent Millay said:

Down, down, down into the darkness of the grave
Gently they go, the beautiful, the tender, the kind;
Quietly, they go, the intelligent, the witty, the brave.
I know. But I do not approve. And I am not resigned.

No words can describe the pain of parents who have to bury their child, yet we must seek solace in words, if only in an attempt to reach out in sympathy to the bereaved parents. So I offer this poem, by Mary Frye:

Do not stand at my grave and weep;
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.

To Kyle's parents, brother, and extended family: please accept my heartfelt condolences,

He will always be in our hearts and I know someday we will see him again. Kyle was a wonderful friend to me and he always knew how to make me smile. Even in the worst of times, he could make a room light up without even trying. I will never forget the songs he sang and the things he did for everyone. I didn't know Kyle very well, I wasn't one of his good friends, but I just knew of him. I always knew him as such a great person. And even though I barely knew him I still knew that he was the most incredible person in the world. He was always nice to everyone and everybody loved him. He always had his ways of making everyone smile and laugh. I remember, Friday, February 9th, Kyle was in my lunch period selling megaphones and painting faces for the game against athol that night. He got everyones attention to tell them about what they were selling, and I instantly started talking to my friends about how great Kyle is, and how much of an amazing person he is. I wasn't a close friend, but I miss him like crazy. He had the biggest heart, I'll never forget him and neither will anybody else.

When I first saw this, I thought "I can't do this, there is no way I'll be able to," and yet..here I am. Kyle was an amazing person, no words can describe him perfectly, but I'll try. He lit up every room he walked into, and held everyones heads up high when they were having a bad day, even if he was to. Never did he once put himself first before his friends, or consider anything of the sort. The things I remember most are our band days, and how he'd crack up everyone in sight with his "amazing" trumpet skills, having class with him, it was always the most entertaining, and his hugs. All I can say, to everyone reading this is, can you seriously sit here and think Kyle would want you to be upset. He wouldn't and if you picture him. you know it. I am so sorry for everyones losses; your family, becky, and everyone he became friends with.

He always said to me "Jule's your coming to see me in the show right? your my biggest fan!"
and whenever he asked me what he could do on stage to make his character better I would always tell him "just be Kyle Flood"

I had the honor of teaching Kyle through a year of American History. His presence could brighten up any room- when Kyle was there, you knew it! No matter how your day was going, Kyle was always there with a smile. I will never forget when, after the AP Exam, Kyle and his friends ran Mr. T. for President. It was the craziest presentation I have ever seen and yet very well thought out and put together. Even when he was no longer in my class, he would stop by with a smile and a "how's it going!?!" Kyle could always make me smile, no matter how crazy things were he always had a joke and big hug ready. Kyle made classes bearable. When I knew I had a tough class coming up, I wanted to make sure that he'd be in it, because with him any class was fun. We didn't understand a lot of the same calculus, something we'd joke about daily, but in English our analyses couldn't be beat. He was a great listener and a steadfast friend. I am so sorry for your loss, Kyle was really one of the Great Ones and our class will never be the same.

I am so sorry to hear the news. I use to babysit Kyle when he was little. He was quite the intertainer and a happy kid. I'm sure those wonderful qualities carried with him as an adult. My heart goes out to his parents and his brother.

Kyle was a great guy. He had the greatest sense of humor, and he never failed to put a smile on other's face. It seems like only yesterday he was sitting in my independent study band class. No one else can be like you, you were one of a kind. We're all going to miss your jokes and your smile, but most of all, you. Rest in peace.

Single words can't describe Kyle Flood. He touched so many people's lives in so many seperate ways. Unselfish, caring, respectful, open, thoughtful, charismatic..... any good words can be spoken to describe Kyle. He worked so hard to make everyone elses lives that much better. My blessings go out to all the family members and close friends of Kyle Flood. We all love and miss him. God Bless.

I don't know where to begin and I don't know where to end. Kyle was a one of a kind individual. His spirit and personality are irreplaceable. I'm not sure when it happened, but somewhere along the line he went from being my brother's best friend to a friend of my own, and for that I will be eternally grateful. He was witty and mature beyond his years, and in conversation I would often forget that there were 4 years between us. Like my brother's other friends, I consider him a brother and I will miss him beyond words. If everyone could be half as enthusiastic and loyal and he was, the world would be a better place. You are one of the best, Bubs, and I'll love and miss you always.

There are so many things that can be said about Kyle, and all of them are positive. We may not have been able to save Kyle's life, but he saved ours, including mine. I am eternally grateful for every smile, every laugh, and every kind word that I had the honor of sharing with Kyle. He was a truly wonderful person, and I believe that he has touched all of our lives in a much greater sense than we ever would have realized. There are only two words that can really express what I owe Kyle, and that is "thank you".

"I wanted a perfect ending. Now I've learned, the hard way, that some poems don't rhyme, and some stories don't have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what's going to happen next."

I never really knew Kyle very well, but i do know that he was an amazing guy. Whenever he saw that I was having a bad day he would in some way try to cheer me up, once he even started singing in the middle of the hallway. It didnt matter to him how well he knew someone, he wanted to help in anyway he could. He was always so positive, a one of a kind person. I know he will be miss by many people and I am so sorry for your loss.

Kyle was one of the greater guys out there. Whenever I went into rehersal for the musical, he would always be doing something funny, and always made my day a little bit better when I saw that. He has touched my life the best way a person can touch anothers' life. He taught me to live life to the fullest every single day, and to not let anything stop you from following your dreams. He will be missed so much by all of his friends, teachers, and everyone that he has ever come into contact with. I will think of him everyday, especially when I listen to "Solla Sollew" a very moving song from the Seussical. We love you Kyle.

Kyle Flood, I won't go a day without thinking of you. You were a great man, you worked tirelessly for the rest of us and to benefit us when you wouldn't even be there to reap the benefits yourself. You always put others before yourself. You were a gift to your family; your friends; your teams; to Mahar; to Orange. Most importantly, though, you were a gift to us. Those of us who knew you were blessed. I can only feel privileged to have known you and I will never forget what you taught me and the words you shared with me. The world just lost a hero.

May you rest in Peace, Kyle.
Even those who did not know you pray for your loved ones.

"I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die" John 11:25 NIV.
I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Behold, God's dwelling is with the human race. He will dwell with them and they will be his people and God himself will always be with them. He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there shall be no more death or mourning, wailing or pain, the old order has passed away." Revelation 21:3-4.

I am so sorry for the loss of Kyle. He was an upstanding citizen and will be missed by everyone that he had ever came into contact with. I served with Kyle at St. Mary's for 9 years and was involved in the youth group with him as well as working on the musicals with him. I am great friends with Becky and am saddened by the loss of the love of her life. They were meant to be. Kyle was a great actor and singer in all of the musicals and could make anyone laugh in any situation. I'm glad to have had the privilage of being friends with him for so long and to getting to know him better as the years went by. I still can't believe this and I, like the rest of the town, am mourning his loss.
Rest In Peace Kyle George Flood
