Louis J. Buccaroni ORANGE- Louis J. Buccaroni, 68, of 26 Howe Street, went home peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, March 2, 2007 at Athol Memorial Hospital, Athol, following a long battle with cancer. Born on June 22, 1938 in Bronx, New York, he was a son of Ernesto and Josephine Pangaro Buccaroni and grew up in New York, leaving for Massachusetts in his early 20's. Louis had gone to Boston University as well as Greenfield Community College. He was married to Virginia Marcy on October 3, 1976, whom he met in Wilmington, and they have enjoyed 30 years together. Louis worked for the Department of Social Services for a number of years, and had worked at the Lake Grove School in Wendell the past seven years. He always enjoyed working with kids and helping people in general. He and his wife had owned B & B Paper Company as well as B & B Batting Cages, which were located behind the old Orange American Legion building on Whitney Street. Louis had also been a manager of the Orange American Legion, and later the manager of the Knights of Columbus Hall when it opened on Daniel Shays Highway. He had a realtor's license and had worked for Godin Realty, Century 21, and Burbank Real Estate. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he enjoyed his time with his family. He had coached and umpired Little League, and helped to bring roller skating to the Orange Armory. A hard working man who kept working up to 2 weeks before his illness forced him to stop, he also loved to play tennis, go bowling, reading, walking, dancing, and movies, as well as traveling to the Maine seacoast. He found time to play cribbage, go boating, attend game feeds, and loved the Boston Red Sox. Besides his beloved wife, Virginia Buccaroni of Orange, he is survived by his sons, Jim Buccaroni, and his wife Liz, of Orange, and Brian Buccaroni of Orange; a daughter, Nicole Buccaroni of Orange; his grandchildren, Vincent, Isabella, Lorenzo, and Isaiah; a brother, Ernest Buccaroni of Athol; eleven nephews and nieces; 2 brother in laws and 2 sister in laws; and his dog "Murray". A Celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2007 at 11:00AM in the North New Salem Congregational Church, 60 Elm Street, New Salem, with Rev. Edward T. Boren officiating.. Interment will be private. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday evening, March 7, 2007 from 6-8PM at Witty's Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange.
