Peggy A. Bobilin

ORANGE- Peggy A. (Mallett) Bobilin, 71, of Holtshire  Road ,died Monday, May 29, 2017 at Heywood Hospital in Gardner.
Born in Montague on May 5, 1946, she was a daughter of Raymond and Mary E. (Drown) Mallett and grew up in Orange and attended the Ralph C. Mahar Regional School in Orange.
On September 22, 1961, she married Howard A. Bobilin Sr. and they enjoyed 54 years of marriage until his death on April 4, 2016, and they raised seven children.
Peggy had worked as a shipper for Rule Tool (later Kennemetal) in South Deerfield before retiring. She previously had worked for the Athol Shoe Shop, Erving Paper and the Hallmark Institute of Photography.
Peggy was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and she was extremely proud of her family.
She loved a trip to Foxwood’s, watching the soap operas, playing computer games but most of all the cookouts and family gatherings.
Survivors include her children, Robert Bobilin of Greenfield, Richard Bobilin and his wife, Heather, of Athol, Howard A. Bobilin Jr. and his wife, Karen, of Orange, Kathy Chaffee and her husband, Dennis, Darlene Thorp and her husband William , all of Orange, and Christina Lapointe and her husband, David, of Athol; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren; a brother, Jay Bowers of New Mexico; a sister, Florence Burritt of Louisiana; and many nephews and nieces.
Besides her parents and husband, Peggy was predeceased by a son, Raymond Bobilin in 1982, and brothers, Raymond Mallett and Edward Mallett.
There are no calling hours.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange.
Interment will follow in South Cemetery, Orange.
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
