William G. Sherwood

ORANGE- William G. Sherwood, 74, of Prescott Lane, died unexpectedly at home on Friday, July 21, 2017 after being stricken ill.

Born in Springfield on February 28, 1943, he was a son of Anna (Casella) Sherwood and grew up in Agawam. William spent several years in North Adams, and had been a resident of Orange for the past three years.

William had a huge interest in big rigs and was proud that his son drove one. He also enjoyed old cars and car shows, auto racing, and the news and weather. William was a “people person” and enjoyed their company as well as waving to the neighbors while out for his many walks.

Survivors include his son, Adam Sherwood of Orange; grandchildren, Autumn Sherwood, Samantha Sherwood, Adam Mandigo and Ethan Sumner, all of North Adams; step grandchildren, Morgan Hawkins, Jacoby Peirce, Bryson Peirce and Shelby Peirce, all of Orange;  caregivers and daughters in law, Bridget Sumner and Yvonne Mumblo; and his best pal and dog, “Timmy”.

William was predeceased by a daughter, Katherine Sherwood.

“We gone, bye bye”.
