ORANGE- Annette L. Barrows, 92, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, March 20, 2024.
She was born May 10, 1931 in Fitchburg, MA to Joseph A. Leger and Lucille (Delisle) Leger. She was a member of St. Francis Church in Fitchburg for many years, where she attended elementary school and graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1949. She worked for W.E. Aubuchon Co., and retired in 1992. In 1993 she moved to Orange.
Annette was an avid reader who loved old fashioned who done it mysteries; often reading several books a week. She enjoyed bingo and playing cards. She was very creative and loved all kinds of crafts, but her passion was making quilts- a trait she got from her mother. She loved spending time with her family and making many memories.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Paul Leger an George Leger and two sisters, Claire Testagrossa and Estelle Seymour. She leaves behind her 5 children; Bonnie Whiteley and husband John of Corinth, TX, daughter Lynne Boutwell husband Ken of Orange, MA, daughter Debra Gauvin and husband Mark of Ashburnham, MA, son Mark Barrows of Rochester, NY and daughter Lisa Newton of Orange, MA. Also 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 5 great, great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Annette was all about family and enjoyed being with them all. She was an avid reader who enjoyed a great mystery but her greatest love was quilting which she did for many years and produced many beautiful quilts for all her children and grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange.
A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on April 6th at Witty’s Funeral Home in Orange.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Annette’s name.
Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange, is assisting the family.
