Raymond C. "Bud" Hildreth Jr.

HINSDALE, NH- Raymond C. “Bud” Hildreth Jr., 92, formerly of Hinsdale, NH, died on March 31, 2024 in Tampa, FL.

Born in Brattleboro, VT on August 12, 1931, he was the son of Raymond C. Hildreth Sr. and Mabel C. (Johnson) Hildreth and grew up in Hinsdale, NH, graduating from Hinsdale High School and from the University of New Hampshire.

Bud had lived in Hinsdale and Franklin, NH, Detroit, MI, and Newington, CT for many years before moving to Florida. His memories of growing up in Hinsdale were rich in detail. He spent much of his retirement researching his Hildreth family genealogy, which gave him great pleasure.

Bud served in the United States Army from 1953-1955 and was a Captain in the Reserves from 1955 until 1964 and was a very patriotic veteran.

Bud worked as a salesman’s rep for International Packings Corporation which later became Freudenberg NOK until his retirement.

Bud is survived by his daughters, Susan M. Scallion and her husband Ken of Meriden, CT and Jayne E. Hildreth of Tampa, FL;  his grandchildren, Kevin Scallion and Kelly Sconza; his great grandchildren, Brynn and Kaden Sconza; and several nephews and nieces.

Besides his parents, Bud was predeceased by his beloved wife of 54 years, Therese (LaPointe) on September 14, 2007, a daughter, Ellen Pastizzo who died in 2023, and a sister, Phyllis Dunn who died in 2009.

There are no calling hours.

A graveside service will be held on April 13 , 2024 at 11 a.m. in Pine Grove Cemetery, Depot Street, Hinsdale, NH.
