ALBERT E. NOYES
ORANGE-We lost a kind and friendly soul on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018 with the unexpected passing of Albert E. "Al" Noyes, 60.
Born in Marlborough MA to Albert J. Noyes and Barbara Matheson, Al grew up an only child however he was never alone. Al's cheerful and inviting nature was like a moth to a flame. Al attended Assabet Valley Regional Technical School for electronics and moved on to work for Digital Equipment Corporation for many years until its closing. He continued with other smaller startup companies and most recently as a compliance engineer for Markem Imaje in Keene, NH.
In addition to his career in electronics, Al was always interested in becoming an entrepreneur. With his wife, they formed and founded Grrr Gear Inc. in Orange, MA and continue to operate their sporting goods store.
As an avid outdoorsman, Al enjoyed the comradely that the hunting and fishing community provides. Al had a variety of interests outside of work, most notably a Patriots Season Ticket Holder, a former race car pit crew member, motorcycle enthusiast and a need to support his community as a Planning Board member.
Al would like to remind us all too…"Always travel with a flask, a cigar, a hat and a snowbrush!"
Al leaves his wife of 28 years, Christine, his ever present companion Randy, and In-laws Pamela Johnson and her partner Rich, Vern and Mary Johnson and Paula Francis. Al's nieces and nephews gave him an amazing amount of joy as they grew and had families and careers of their own. Hillary and Jack, Brian and Emily, Ben, Taylor, Allie and Julia. Uncle Al could not be contained to just blood relatives as many friends and extended family considered him "Uncle".
Al was predeceased by both parents.
There are no calling hours.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 27th from 3:00pm-6:00pm at the Orange American Legion, 40 Daniel Shays Highway, Orange, MA.
We encourage people to bring personal stories and photos to create a collage in Al's memory.
Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange, is assisting the family.
