Barry M. Songer

ORANGE- Barry M. Songer, 60, of East River Street, went to be with his Lord, Jesus Christ, on Friday, September 15, 2017.

Born on July 12, 1957 in Athol, he was a son of John S. Jr. and Irene (Dombroski) Songer and grew up in Orange and attended Ralph C. Mahar Regional School and earned his GED.

Barry enlisted into the United States Marine Corp and was medically discharged.

In 2003, Barry married Tammy (Guyer) and celebrated 14 years of marriage.

Barry had worked for Sewell Plastics in Leominster, as well as several other jobs.

Music and singing were a big part of Barry’s life, along with Bible reading. He also loved sports, especially the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots.

Survivors include his loving wife, Tammy Songer, of Orange; a daughter, Michelle Songer of Orange; sons, Mitchell Parker and Barry Parker, both of New Ipswich, NH; a grandson, Kaiden Parker; siblings, Doreen Hodgkins (Scott) of Gardner, John Songer (Janice) of Phillipston, Anne Colturi (Keith) of North Orange and Laurel Schmick (Clay) of Tully; numerous nephews and nieces; and his beloved cat, “Peanut”.

There are no calling hours.

A celebration of Barry’s life will be held at a date and time to be announced.

Interment in Silver Lake Cemetery, Athol, will be private.

Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange, is directing the arrangements.
