ORANGE- Bryan P. Hall, 60, of Sandrah Drive, died late Thursday evening, January 4, 2018 at the home of his daughter, surrounded by loved ones.

Born in Athol on July 28, 1957, he was a son of Richard R. and Jeanette (Johnson) Hall and grew up in North Orange, and graduated from Ralph C. Mahar Regional School in 1977.

On September 15, 1984, Bryan married Lurene (Ballou) and they have enjoyed over 33 years of marriage.

Bryan was a hard and dedicated worker and had worked for Moore’s Farm, Johnson’s Farm, Hubbard Lumber and Heyes Forest Products before going to work at the L. S. Starrett Company in Athol where he worked in the tumbling department before taking early retirement.

Bryan enjoyed many years helping on his family’s farm, Johnson’s Farm, doing haying and milking cows, but his favorite chore was working during sugaring season to collect maple sap to boil into syrup.

For more than 30 years, Bryan worked for Hall’s Canteen in Rindge, New Hampshire working the grill alongside his father and son.

Bryan was a doting grandfather and loved his time with granddaughter Brooke, watching “Frozen” and “Mickey Mouse” numerous times.

A farmer at heart, Bryan had always wanted to start his own Christmas tree farm.

Bryan was a very active member and past president of the Athol Lions Club and District 33A. He also was a lifetime member of the Orange Historical Society. He had also been a Boy Scout leader and worked numerous Engine Shows with his brother in law at Orange Airport every June.

Bryan is missed by his wife, Lurene Hall of Orange; daughter Jillian “Jill” Bastine and her husband, Cory, of Orange; granddaughter, Brooke Bastine of Orange; his parents, Richard and Jeanette Hall of North Orange; a sister, Laurie Dornig and her husband, Ed, and their daughter, Bethany, of Medfield; an aunt, Kathryn Johnson of Orange; his in-law’s, Grover and Irene Ballou of Orange;  sisters in law, Lucille Songer and her husband, Ken, and Luanne Pierson and her husband, Charles Jr., all of Orange; a brother in law, Grover R. Ballou and his wife, Leanne, of New Salem; many nephews, nieces and grandnephews and grandnieces; many cousins; and special friends, Ben Arnot, Roy Arnot, Jack Arnot, Bill Ruby, Curtis Ruby and Cheryl Calcari; He also leaves Jenna Archibald and Kayla Coburn who were like daughters as well as Jeremiah Griffith who was like a son.

Bryan was predeceased by his son, Philip R. Hall, on January 29, 2013, whom he deeply missed.

Calling hours will be Wednesday evening, January 10, 2018 from 5-7 p.m. at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange.
