Cheryl A. Sarrazin

NEW SALEM- Cheryl A. (Bacigalupo) Sarrazin, 54, of North Main Street, died Wednesday evening, October 18, 2017 at Athol Hospital.

Born in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri on May 29, 1963, she was a daughter of Arthur and Elizabeth (Hardwig) Bacigalupo and grew up in Athol, Mass. and graduated from Athol High School Class of 1983.

On September 6, 1986, Cheryl married James L. Sarrazin and they enjoyed over 29 years together until his death on October 4, 2015.

Cheryl worked as a CNA and had been employed at the Baldwinville Nursing Home and the Leo Lachance Center in Gardner.

Devoted to her loving family, Cheryl was always the center of laughter. She enjoyed numerous activites, some of which included hiking, apple picking, the ocean, and camping, especially in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.

Cheryl was a hard worker and caregiver and even outside work, those traits were evident in her family and friends and adopted children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her son, Dakota Sarrazin of New Salem; a daughter, Amanda Sarrazin of Athol; a granddaughter, Cheyanne Sarrazin of New Salem; brothers, James Bacigalupo (Marla) of Gardner, John Bacigalupo (Amy) of Athol and Brian Bacigalupo of Orange; a sister, Mary Beth Bacigalupo Worden of Worcester; many nephews and nieces; a Goddaughter, Elizabeth Bacigalupo of Orange; and many adopted children and grandchildren.

A calling hour will be held on Monday, October 23, 2017 from 9:30- 10:30 a.m. at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 23rd at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Mary’s Church, 19 Congress Street, Orange, with Fr. Peter Pawlus officiating.
