Clarence Hardy Sr.

ORANGE- Clarence Hardy Sr., 93, of Stone Valley Road and formerly of Harrison Avenue, died January 29, 2019 at Athol Hospital.

Born in Brooklyn, New York on June 21, 1925.

On September 14, 1943, Clarence enlisted into the United States Army and served during World War Two. He was honorably discharged on December 30, 1945.

Clarence was married to Joyce (Austin) on August 31, 1968 and enjoyed 43 years of marriage until her death on June 2, 2011. Clarence was previously married to Marine (Bates).

Clarence worked for the Millers Falls Tool Company, which was bought out by Ingersoll- Rand and moved to South Deerfield, for over 35 years before retiring at the age of 62.

Clarence enjoyed playing cards and going fishing.

A member of the Orange American Legion, he also was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Clarence is survived by a sons, Clarence Hardy Jr.and Scott Hardy; a daughter in law, Dana Hardy and her children, Kyle and Alissa; as well as extended family and friends.

There are no calling hours or services.

Interment was private in South Cemetery, Orange.
