ORANGE- Dorothy E. (Barrett) LaFlamme, 81, of East River Street, died early Monday morning, February 26, 2018 at Wachusett Manor in Gardner.

Born in Orange on December 6, 1936, she was a daughter of Oscar and Evelyn (Shepardson) Barrett.

Dorothy was first married to David Reed (who died in 2007) and was later married to Alfred LaFlamme.

She had worked for MCI Transformer in Orange for a number of years as an assembler. Following retirement, Dorothy worked part time as a bartender at the Lithuanian Club in Athol.

Dorothy enjoyed going to Foxwoods, traveling, especially on cruises, and also camping with her family.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Sharon Sawin, Brenda Reed and Penny Soderman, all of Athol, Donna Chalifoux of Charleston, South Carolina, and Bonita Durling and her husband, Theodore, of Valdosta, Georgia;  grandchildren, Cicely Sawin, Steven Reed, Carissa Roberts, Sean Johnson, Katie Polonoa, and Merynn Lyman; three great grandsons; one great granddaughter; and a brother, Alfred Barrett and his wife, Julie, of West Palm Beach, Florida; and long time friend, Donald Walker.

Besides her parents, Dorothy was predeceased by a grandson, Kevin Reed, and sisters, Marjorie Satrowsky, Mary Gray and Jean Ellis, as well as a brother, Ronald Barrett.

A calling hour will be held on March 10 , 2018 from 10-11 a.m.,  at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange.

A memorial service will be held on March 10, 2018 at 11 a.m.,  at Witty’s Funeral Home in Orange.

Interment will follow in South Cemetery, Orange.
