ORANGE-  Emily L. (Matthews) Butcher, 87, Of 308 East Main street, Died October 5,2018 at home Peacefully with her family by her side after a sudden Illness.

She was born March 17, 1931. She was the daughter of Ralph T. Matthews and Hazel E (Clarke) Matthews.

On April 27, 1968 She married William R Butcher JR, they were married for 50 years.

Emily was a homemaker and worked for the Athol daily news for many years.

Emily enjoyed looking out the window and feeding her birds. She also enjoyed cooking meals for her animals at home, and baking with her grandchildren. She enjoyed selling Avon and Pampered Chef. She enjoyed going to York Beach with her husband and visiting her daughter in New York.

She leaves behind her son Mark Butcher and his wife, Theresa of North Carolina; daughter, Sandra Favreau and her fiancé Todd Wise of Orange, MA, Evelyn Beaudin and her late husband Gilles of Chateauguay, New York and Marilyn Matthews and her Companion Alan Bradley of Madison, Connecticut. Her grandchildren, Brandon Favreau and his wife Samantha, Dustin Favreau and his girlfriend Amanda, Mandie Estes and her husband, John, Donald Carpenter, Tracie Fall, Ian Prue, Jordan Butcher, Weston Butcher and Mason Butcher. Several great grandchildren. As well as her brothers Ralph T. Matthews Jr. and Edwin Matthews both of Warwick. Her former son in law Mark Favreau who was like a second son.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her Brother Wilfred Mathews and her Husband William R Butcher JR.

There will be no calling hours.

A celebration of life will be scheduled for a later date for Emily and her husband.
