Gladys R. O’Hare

ORANGE- Gladys R. (Bogan) O’Hare, 85, of St. Petersburg, Florida and formerly of Orange, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 after a long illness.

Gladys was born in Clarksville, Ohio on August 28, 1932. She was the daughter of Alphesus Bogan and Georgianna (West) Bogan.

Gladys is predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Charles L. O’Hare, and a brother, Charles E. Bogan.

She was a graduate of the Class of 1950 Templeton High School.

Gladys was employed for 29 years at the Simplex Time Recorder Co. in Gardner and retired in 1994.

She was a member of the South Athol United Methodist Church.

Gladys enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Ten Pins Senior Fun League, and also a great fan of the Boston Red Sox, and going to Bingo and Foxwoods.

She leaves a daughter, Patricia Richard (Omer) of Gardner; two sons, Robert O’Hare of St. Petersburg, Florida and John O’Hare (Deb) of Royalston; grandchildren, Lynn, Marc, Robert, Shannon, Bobbi, Jamie, and Philip; five great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; a cousin, Ruth Towne and her daughter, Leah, of Hamilton, Ohio.

A calling hour will be held on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 from 10:30- 11:30 a.m. at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange.

A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 19th at Witty’s Funeral Home in Orange.

Interment will follow in South Cemetery, Orange.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Athol Animal Shelter, c/o Athol Police, 290 Exchange Street, Athol, MA 01331 or to the South Athol United Methodist Church, Zane Dubour, 3800 South Athol Road, Athol, MA 01331.
