Harold H. Page

ORANGE- Harold H. Page, 88, of Ball Street, died Sunday evening, July 23, 2017 at Quabbin Valley Healthcare in Athol.

Born in Gardner on April 2, 1929, he was a son of the late Kenneth R. and Gladys E. (Willoghby) Page and grew up in Templeton, graduating from Templeton High School.

Harold enlisted into the United States Air Force on February 6, 1951 and served during the Korean Conflict overseas in Japan. He was honorably discharged on February 5, 1955.

On July 2, 1955, Harold married Shirley L. (Haskell) and they enjoyed 58 years together until her death on September 3, 2013.

Harold was employed by Erving Paper Mill for 35 years before retiring. He had previously worked at the former Union Twist Drill in Athol as well as doing maintenance work at Morton Meadows in Athol for a number of years.

Harold had been a Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader with Troop 40 in Orange, was a member of the Jumptown Twirlers with his wife, and had also been a member and treasurer of the Mission Covenant Church in Orange.

Harold was an avid woodworker and had made numerous items for his family. He also enjoyed caning chairs, doing puzzles , traveling, Air Force reunions around the United States, and bus trips with Wilson Tours.

Harold his survived by his sons, David Page and his wife, Sherry, of Swanzey, NH, and Russell Page and his wife, Judy, of Athol; daughters, Linda White and her husband, Thomas, of Gardner, and Brenda Taylor and her husband, Glen, of Orange; grandchildren, Jennifer Liddell (Phil), Jason Page (Heather), Jamie Rivas (Joey), Jill French (Matt Martoncik), Adam Page (Meghan), Nicholas Taylor (Meghan), Paige Taylor (Fred Adams), Alexander White (Aly Stanton), Andrew White and Mark White (Lauren); ten great grandchildren; and many nephews, nieces and cousins.

Besides his parents and wife, Harold was predeceased by his siblings, Edward Page, George Page, Robert Page and Elizabeth Denis.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2017 from 5-7 p.m. at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange.

A funeral service will be held Friday, July 28, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Witty’s Funeral Home in Orange.

Interment with military honors will follow at South Cemetery, Orange.
