ATHOL- James M. “Jim” Gordon, 82, of Morton Meadows, died March 6, 2018 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.

Born in Fitzwilliam, New Hampshire, on December 16, 1935 he was a son of Jasper and Sallie (Cushing) Gordon and grew up in New Hampshire.

Jim served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Germany.

He had been married in 1957 to Joanne (Allen).

A self employed carpenter most of his career, Jim built many homes in Southern New Hampshire. Jim had also worked for Davey’s Tree Service for many years.

An avid outdoorsman, Jim loved fishing and hunting, as well as whittling just about anything.

Jim was a member of both the Lithuanian and Franco-American Clubs in Athol.

Jim is survived by his children, Mary Lu Courtney of Athol, James M. Gordon Jr. and his wife, Diamond, of Midway, Tennessee, and Pamela Richardson and her husband, Jack, of Athol; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; sisters, Patricia Gauthier, Katherine Montiverdi, and Raine Gordon, all of Fitzwilliam, New Hampshire, and Margaret Dufault of Winchendon; and several nephews and nieces.

Besides his parents, Jim was predeceased by a grandchild and nine siblings.

There are no calling hours or formal services.
