NORTH BROOKFIELD- Janice B. (Brown) Dugan, 84, of 102 New Braintree Road and formerly of Orange, died on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Worcester, following an illness.
Born in Orange on January 7, 1927, she was a daughter of Oliver and Jessie (Chase) Brown and grew up in Orange, graduating from Orange High School in 1944.
Janice married Carlton J. Dugan on October 8, 1949 and enjoyed over 50 years together until his death on June 28, 2000.
Janice had worked a number of years at the New Home Sewing Machine Company in Orange which later became the Torrington Company. She had also worked at the former Orange Pants Shop on East Main Street.
Janice enjoyed crocheting, puzzles, sewing, reading, and watching television.
Survivors include her daughters, Debra Parlangeli and Denise Fiske and her husband, Edward, all of North Brookfield, and Ilene Rowe and her husband, Lloyd “Skip”Jr., of Orange; grandchildren, Nathan Bernard, Nicole Pearson, Michael Fiske, Christopher Fiske, LeAnne Kirby, and Lee Rowe; great grandchildren Sydney Pearson, Lauren Kirby, Danielle Kirby, Austin Kirby, and Samantha Rowe; and many nephews and nieces.
Besides her husband Carlton, Janice was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy Flemming and a brother, Robert Brown.
There are no calling hours.
Funeral services and interment in South Cemetery, Orange, will be private with the Rev. Jean Thompson of the Community Church of North Orange & Tully officiating.
