ORANGE- Janice C. Peirce, 85, of East River Street, died Friday evening, November 3, 2017 at Athol Hospital.

Born in Leverett on August 13, 1932, she was a daughter or the late Clarence and Josephine (Chapin) Peirce.

Janice was an inspector at the L. S. Starrett Company in Athol for 30 years before retiring. She previously had worked in the needle room at the Torrington Company in Orange as well as the former Duall Plastics in Athol.

Janice had been a member of the Starrett 25 Plus Club.

A collector of owl memorabilia, Janice loved to go shopping as well as eating out.

Survivors include 16 nieces and nephews, Peter Hubbard of Orange, Charlene Hallett (Doug) of Orange, James Hubbard (Romona) of Petersham, Nancy Hubbard of Greenfield, Jo-Ann Haley (Peter) of Templeton, John Hubbard (Debby) of Star, Idaho, Peggy Peirce of Orange, Debra Soucie (Doug) of Orange, Herbert Peirce (Priscilla) of Orange, Jean Sinclair of Orange, Sally Coffin (Dean) of Orange, Kenneth Peirce of Orange, Harry Peirce of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Tommy Peirce of Orange, Steve Peirce of Michigan and Robby Peirce (Nancy) of Orange; as well as many great and great, great nieces and nephews.

Janice was predeceased by her brothers, Douglas Peirce and Herbert Peirce, as well as a sister, Charlotte Peirce Hubbard.

A calling hour will be held on November 17, 2017 from 1-2 p.m. at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange.

A time of remembrance will be offered at 2 p.m. following the calling hour.

Interment will follow in South Cemetery, Orange.
