Joan A. Truehart

ATHOL-  Joan Adell (Coffin) Truehart of Athol died peacefully at Applewood Home for Elders on August 1, 2017.

Born in North Orange on July 3, 1933 to the late Naphtali and Hazel (Green) Coffin. She was predeceased by her husband Donald P. Truehart in 1990. She was one of eight siblings, and was predeceased by her sisters Louise Lachance, Evelyn Copeland and brother Richard Coffin. She is survived by sisters Edna Blackmer of Athol, Alice (and husband Gordon) Crowe of South Carolina, brothers Bernal (and wife Shirley) Coffin of Daytona Beach Florida, and Alan “Tiny” (and wife Cheryl) Coffin of West Yarmouth Mass.

She leaves three children, all of Athol, Rebecca (and husband David) Bialecki, Melissa Barber and Jonathan (and wife Debbie) Robbins. She leaves her beloved grandchildren, Heather Bialecki (and Dennis) Canning of Athol, Jeffrey Bialecki of Auburn, Jennifer Elliott of Greenfield, Daniel (and Megan) Barber of Greenfield, Chelsea and Seth Robbins of Tennessee, Jonathan Robbins of Maine, Melissa (and Patrick) Allsobrooks of Templeton, Ryan Daigle of Athol, Dusten Daigle of Keene New Hampshire. She also had 9 great grandchildren.                                                                                                                              

Joan worked at the Erving Paper Mill, the “Pant Shop” in Orange and retired from Starretts after more than twenty years. She had been an active member of the Emblem Club, the Bethany Lutheran Church and the Wheelerville Women’s Club. She loved bingo, crafts and cooking for her family.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, August 6, 2017 from 1-3 p.m. at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange.

A celebration of life will immediately follow at the Wheelerville Community Club, 698 East Main Street, Orange.

Interment in Silver Lake Cemetery, Athol, will be private.
