John E. Field Jr.

ORANGE- John Edward Field Jr., 71, of East River Street, died on Friday afternoon, October 18, 2019 at Quabbin Valley Healthcare in Athol.

Born in Gardner on November 26, 1947, he was a son of John E. Sr. and Elizabeth (Roberts) Field and grew up in Gardner, and graduated from Leominster Trade School.

On March 4, 1969, John enlisted in the United States Army and made a career of serving in the service, obtaining the rank of Sergeant. He was honorably discharged on April 26, 1991.

John married Diane (Daniels) on September 23, 2003 and celebrated 15 years of marriage last month.

Following his service career, John worked as the maintenance supervisor at the Orange Innovation Center.

John enjoyed amateur radio, remote control airplanes, dancing and was an avid fisherman.

Survivors include his loving wife, Diane Field of Orange; sons, John E. Field III of Boothbay, Maine and Robert S. Field of Plaistow, New Hampshire; step children, April Clemence Mendoza of San Antonio, Texas and Adam Clemence of Mantiga, California; grandchildren, Tyler, Cody, Brianna, Evan, and Alexandria.

There are no calling hours.

Interment with military honors will be held on October 28, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon.
