What a kind, energetic, caring and dear lady! I was pleased to be her Pastor for 5 years. She often cared for the flowers, was an active altar guild member, helped rake the leaves, helped with Meatball Suppers as well as Fairs, sang in the choir to mention just a few. She will be missed. May she Rest In Peace.

Doris had rather regular contact with her cousin Ester in Sweden, who was my father´s sister.
Back in 1986 when Ester heard that I and my sister Magga were going to the US, she said that we should visit Doris as well. I wrote to Doris, and she answered that we were welcome to stay at her place. So on July 4th we arrived in Orange. After that Doris and I stayed in touch, and therefore I think she decided to travel to Sweden once in her life, and so she did in 1991.
After that we came closer to eachother, and had regulary contact by mail and phone. She never forgot my birthday, and always sent cards to me for Christmas and Easterholiday.
In 2008, 2012 and 2015 I visited her again.
I am so glad to have known Doris, she became a dear friend of mine.
Rest in Peace!

From Birgitta and all the family in Sweden

Doris was one-of-a kind and I will never forget her. She was a faithful and caring person. She brought me some flowers from her garden soon after I arrived in Orange.
This is a lovely picture of her - it captures that twinkle in her eyes.

Her pastor for eight years, Andrea Hoslett

Doris was one of the sweetest people I had ever met. I was extremely lucky to have her in my life. I worked with her for many years and she was a ray of sunshine every day. She will always hold a special place in my heart. God Bless all of you during this time as you mourn this very special lady.

May she rest in peace.! My earliest memory of Ms Doris is when she was one of the cookie Ladies at church in Vacation Bible School. She was the only one that would smile when you did not know which cookie to take, a vanilla one or a chocolate one. May all in her extended family know that she was a very special Woman, with the kindest heart ever.
Rest in peace, L. Doris. xoxo
