ORANGE- Leslie M. Maynard, 33, of 50 East Main Street, died unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 after being stricken ill.
Born in Athol on June 6, 1980, she was a daughter of Joseph and Sheila (Chartier) Maynard and grew up in Gardner and Athol, graduating from Athol High School with the Class of 1999.
A beautiful and loving child, Leslie loved everyone. Her blue eyes could light up a room and make everyone feel good.
Leslie was an avid reader and also enjoyed writing poems as well as dancing, but most of all she loved spending time with her son Alec.
Leslie is survived by her beloved son, Alec Beland of Orange; her mother, Sheila Lafortune of Athol; her father and step mother, Joseph and Diana Maynard of Gardner; her siblings, Shannon Maynard of Gardner, Sheena Miller of  Fuquay- Varina, North Carolina, Sky Maynard and Autumn Maynard, both of Athol, Steven Lafortune of Worcester, Summer Lafortune and Lillie- Rose Lafortune, both of Athol; a step sister, Natasha Piro of Orange; grandparents, Barbara and Robert Strom of Athol, Alphonse and Lu-ming Chartier Jr. of Florida, and Dale and Evelyn Berry of Winchester, New Hampshire; and many nephews and nieces.
Leslie was predeceased by her grandfather, George Maynard, and an infant child.
Calling hours will be on Thursday, December 26, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange.
Funeral services will be held on Friday morning, December 27, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Witty’s Funeral Home in Orange.
Interment will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery, Athol.
