ATHOL- Lois S. (Jardine) Lincoln, 88, formerly of North Main Street in Orange, died Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Quabbin Valley Healthcare in Athol.

Born in Orange on March 11, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Beatrice (Case) Jardine and grew up in Orange, graduating from Orange High School in 1948.

Shortly after graduation, Lois married Donald Lincoln in 1948 and enjoyed 43 years of marriage until his death on December 4, 1991.

Lois had worked for Adell’s, the Orange Shoe Shop, drove school bus in Warwick and also was a clerk at Country Convenience Stores when the family owned the stores. Lois was happiest being mother and grandmother though and enjoyed many family get togethers.

Lois had attended the South Athol United Methodist Church for a number of years and helped put on numerous suppers and worked many village fairs.

Lois was skilled at cross stitching, loved baking and quilting, and enjoyed scrap-booking and photo albums. In her younger years, she loved biking and walking in the Quabbin Reservoir.

Lois is survived by a daughter, Elaine Lincoln of Athol; a son, Wayne Lincoln and his wife, Joyce, of Greenfield; grandchildren Michelle Haddocks, Craig Johnson (Gretchen), Julie Wheeler (James), Donald Lincoln and Jessica Matthews; great grandchildren, Colby Johnson, Allison Wheeler, Gabriella Matthews and MacKenzie Matthews; a brother, Russell Jardine (Charlene) of Athol; sister, Kathy Mattison (Clyde) of Hinsdale, NH; sister in law, Judy Cleveland of Orange; and many nephews and nieces.

Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Dennis Lincoln on July 2, 2014.

There are no calling hours.

A celebration of life will be held on February 2, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange.

Interment will be in South Cemetery, Orange.
