Lynn W. DeJackome
ORANGE- Lynn W. DeJackome, 77, of North Main Street, died Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at the University of Massachusetts Memorial Healthcare, 119 Belmont Street, Worcester.
Born in Athol on August 31, 1940, he was a son of Leo V. and Pauline (Brock) DeJackome and grew up in Orange and was a member of the first graduating class of Ralph C. Mahar Regional School in 1957.
On June 10, 1961, Lynn married Peggy A. (Moore) and would of celebrated 57 years together next month.
A hard worker, Lynn was employed by the Rodney Hunt Company in Orange for 42 years as a fabricator before retiring. He and Peggy had also been the caretakers of Camp Cheneo in Athol for over 25 years before retiring from that job as well.
Lynn was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed all of them immensely. He was an avid woodcutter and bucked up many cords of wood over the year. Lynn was also an enthusiastic reader, and outdoorsman that enjoyed motorcycles and snowmobiling, a traveler and never refused to go out to eat.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Peggy DeJackome of Orange; a son, Eric DeJackome (Ann Melanson) of Athol; a daughter, Cheryl Skiffington (Gary) of Orange; grandchildren, Eric DeJackome Jr. of Otter River, Kelly M. DeJackome of Worcester, Brandon Skiffington of Orange and Hunter J. Melanson of Athol; great grandchildren, Audrie M. Sawyer, Emma R. Sawyer, and Jason R. Hamel, all of Athol; and nephews, nieces and cousins.
Besides his parents, Lynn was predeceased by his siblings, Norma Ball, Bernard DeJackome, Wayne DeJackome and Gloria DeJackome.
There are no calling hours or services.
The family suggests donations in Lynn’s memory to the Friends of Wheeler Memorial Library, 49 East Main Street, Orange, MA 01364.
