Marilyn J. King
ATHOL- Marilyn J. (Muse) King, 89, of Tully Brook Apartments, West Royalston Road, died peacefully at home on Monday, September 10, 2018.
Born in Woburn on May 28, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Foley) Muse and grew up in Woburn, graduating from Woburn High School in 1947.
On November 16, 1947, Marilyn married Joseph R. King and enjoyed 14 years together until his death on November 15, 1961.
Marilyn started working for Sylvania in Woburn which was eventually merged with Verizon and retired in 1991.
In 1992, Marilyn moved to Athol where she could be closer to her daughter and grandchildren.
She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crafts, reading and truly loved doing crossword puzzles, with a pen.
Marilyn is survived by her children, Kathy Miller and her husband, Jeff, of Athol, Jospeh “Bobbie” King and his wife, Margaret, of Attleboro, and Thomas P. King of Athol; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a daughter Linda S. King and a sister, Barbara Meuse.
There are no calling hours.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on September 21, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Saint Francis of Assisi Church, 105 Main Street, Athol, with Fr. Edwin Montana officiating.
Interment will be private in Calvary Cemetery, Woburn.
