Martin J. Connolly

Martin J. Connolly WENDELL- Martin J. Connolly, 66, of 341 Farley Road, died on Friday, November 30, 2007 at home following an illness, with family surrounding him. Born on January 9, 1941 in Westwood, he was a son of Martin and Catherine Kerns Connolly and grew up in the Boston area, working along with his father on a farm estate. He enlisted in the United States Army on March 1, 1962 and was Honorably discharged on December 28, 1964. Martin married Sharon Bradshaw and they have been together for 42 years. He had worked for Senn Excavating in Millers Falls doing welding and snowplowing. Martin had also worked at Suffolk Downs Race Track before moving to Wendell. He also had done carpentry and auto body work at Joe's in Mormon Hollow. Martin loved trucks and especially took great pride in keeping his lawn groomed. Survivors include his wife Sharon of Wendell; his daughters, Shari Bezio of Erving, Michelle Connolly and Tammy Connolly, both of Wendell; a granddaughter, Crysania Bezio; a sister, Kay Tibet of Worcester; and many nephews and nieces. Martin was predeceased by a brother, John Connolly There will be a calling hour from 1-2PM on Tuesday afternoon, December 4, 2007 at Witty's Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange. A funeral service will be held following the calling hour, at 2:00PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Oncology Department, c/o Athol Memorial Hospital, 2033 Main Street, Athol, MA 01331.
