PETERSHAM- Mary (Bradnum) Cooley, 77, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 10, 2018 with her family surrounding her.
Mary was a loving person who loved her family and friends with all that she had. She enjoyed her trips to Long Island and being with her friends and family.
Mary was born in Norwich, Norfolk, England to Louis and Hilda Bradnum.
Mary married her husband, Richard “Dickie” Cooley on May 2, 1959 in Norwich England. She came to the States in December 1959. She enjoyed 59 wonderful years with Dickie. She very proudly received her US Citizenship on Nov. 6, 1997, which all her family attended in Boston.
In her earlier years, Mary dispatched for the Petersham Fire Department, did home day care and cooked for F. A. Coolidge. Later she worked for The Highland Press before retiring.
She is survived by her husband, Richard “Dickie” Cooley, her sons Richard “Dana” & Diana Cooley, Jr of Petersham, Leslie Cooley and his fiance’ Sherry Camerer of Athol and daughters Tina and Mike Doyle of Athol and Candy and Joey LaPointe of Petersham. She leaves her grandchildren, Brandi Brown, Shayna Stevens, Adam Cooley, Justin Brailey, Andrew Doyle, Laryssa Cooley, Jacob Cooley, Shawn Clukey, Amy Jarvenpaa and Craig LaPointe. She leaves her great-grandchildren Savannah Cordio, Oliver Brown (on his way), Daisy, Delmar and Harvest Stevens, Levi and Kayleigh Clukey and Veikko Jarvenpaa. She leaves many nieces, nephews and cousins. She also leaves many very good friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, her grandson Joe Doyle and her sister Eileen Bickles.
There are no calling hours.
A celebration of her life will be held on February 25, 2018 from 1-4 p.m. at the Orange American Legion, 40 Daniel Shays Highway, Orange.
