Michael A. Stevens
ORANGE- Michael A. Stevens, 40, of Brookside Road, died unexpectedly on Friday, February 23, 2018 at Athol Hospital after being stricken ill.
Born in Easthampton on June 8, 1977, he was a son of David and Terri (Macomber) Stevens and grew up in Easthampton and Northampton before moving to Orange.
Michael was a hard worker and had worked for Cersosimo Lumber and Allard Lumber, both in Brattleboro, Vermont. He briefly worked for the Vermont Bread Company. Michael loved tree work and also worked for Jesse’s Tree Service.
Michael enjoyed fishing, metal detecting and going to tag sales and flea markets.
A proud father, he will be sadly missed by his children, parents, and his sister whom he was very close to.
Michael is survived by his father, David Stevens, of Orange; mother, Terri Harris and her husband, Kenneth, of Athol; daughters, Ayja Stevens of Springfield, Jayden Stevens of New Hampshire, and Lillyanna Stevens of Athol; a sister, Amy Lee Stevens of Athol; grandmothers Rochelle Tourigny and Barbara Macomber, both of Orange; aunts and uncles, Larry and Lisa Macomber of Orange, Laurie and Jimmy Hamlett of Athol, Leann Macomber of Florida, Tony Macomber of Springfield and Aleshia Rice of Florida; a step grandmother, Theresa Harris of Brattleboro, Vermont; a niece, Madison Engraman; a nephew, Gabriel Engraman; his companion, Sherry North, of Orange; and many friends.
Michael was predeceased by a daughter, Brooke Stevens.
Calling hours will be Thursday evening, March 1, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange.
There are no formal services.
