Norma L. Lindsey
ATHOL- Norma L. (Rice) Lindsey, 84, of Daniel Shays Highway, died Friday, March 23, 2018 at Quabbin Valley Healthcare in Athol.
Born in Barre on December 20, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Edna (Noble) Rice and grew up in Barre.
On June 30, 1951, Norma married Robert W. Lindsey and they enjoyed over 66 years of marriage until his death last year on April 26, 2017.
Norma had been a member of the Grange as well as the Red Hat Society. She also enjoyed collecting dolls.
Survivors include her son, Robert M. Lindsey and his wife, Pamela, of Spencer; daughters, Evelyn Rosenblum of Nashua, NH and Linda Morse and her husband, Timothy, of Montpelier, Virginia; nine grandchildren, Jason Lindsey (Melanie), Scott Lindsey (Jessica), Tricia Lindsey, Sarah Parker (Dan), Amanda Cook (Daniel), Billy Morse, Jacob Morse (Crystal), Kate Peever (Bill), and Shannon Landgren (Andrew); 23 and one on the way great grandchildren; a son in law, Kevin Murphy, of Barre; and a brother, Warner Rice of Athol.
Besides her parents and husband, Norma was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Murphy, sisters, Evelyn Rice who died at the age of 13 from a car accident, and Phyllis Rice Davis, as well as a brother, Walter Rice.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, March 29, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 30, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Witty’s Funeral Home in Orange with Rev. Edward Boren of the North New Salem Congregational Church officiating.
Interment will be in Quabbin Park Cemetery, Ware.
