Paul O. Stratton

ORANGE- Paul O. Stratton, 69, of East River Street, died Wednesday evening, October 10, 2018 at Charlene Manor in Greenfield.

Born in Winchendon on March 18, 1949, he was a son of the late Oakley A. and Charlotte M. (Hamlin) Stratton and lived his entire life in the North Quabbin region..

In 1978, Paul married Florence “Sadie” (Edwards) and have enjoyed 40 years of marriage.

An experienced and knowledgeable mechanic who could and would, fix most everything, Paul had worked for E.H. Merrifield Bus Company for many years, as well as owning and operating Stratton Garage in Orange. He also had worked for Alpha Gary Plastics in Leominster.

A devoted family man, Paul also had many friends who he enjoyed kiddingly picking on.

Paul led a life of servitude to his fellow mankind and loved helping people. He was an avid reader and also enjoyed chopping cordwood.

A member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Orange, he served its ministry as well as helped to maintain the property, including snowplowing when necessary.

Paul was a teacher to people on a variety of subjects and helped many people to understand how certain things worked, or to find their way in life. Paul was a true mentor to his peers.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Sadie Stratton of Orange; children, Frank Coderre (Tammy) of Charlotte, NC, Holly Coderre of Greenfield, and Micah Stratton (Diana) of Orange; grandchildren, Careena Cormier, Sage Coderre and John Stratton; a niece, Sherry Similia (Dino) of West Boyalston; and several cousins, including Marie Erali (Wally), who was like his sister, of Athol; and many friends and co-workers.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 19, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange.

A service will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 185 Daniel Shays Highway, Orange.
