Philip H. Fleming
ORANGE- Philip H. Fleming, 94, formerly of Orange, died Friday, February 23, 2018 at Brighton Gardens Assisted Living in Saddle River, NJ.
Born in Orange on May 14, 1923, he was a son of the late Leroy E. and Hazel (Cadwell) Fleming and grew up in Orange and graduated from Orange High School in 1941
Philip was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy (Brown), in 1974.
Employed by the former Torrington Company in Orange, Philip was a machine shop foreman for 15 years and worked for the company 31 years before retiring in 1980. He previously had worked for the Union Twist Drill in Athol and Levitt Machine in Orange.
An avid golfer, Philip was a member of the Oak Ridge Golf Club in Gill. He also enjoyed walking.
Philip is survived by a daughter, Sally Ann (Dexter) Hermance and husband Kenneth, of Mahwah, NJ; grandchildren, Carol (Hermance) Birchwale, of Glen Spey, NY, Laura (Hermance) Mundhenk and husband Larry, of Westwood, NJ, and Kenneth Hermance Jr. of Wanaque, NJ; four great grandchildren. Larry, Katie, Emily and Amy Mundhenk of Westwood, NJ.
Besides his parents and wife, Philip was predeceased by two brothers, Frederick Fleming and David Fleming, as well as a sister, Edith (Fleming) Prest.
There are no calling hours.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 2, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., in South Cemetery, 585 South Main Street, Orange, with Rev. Dr. Megan Leary of the Orange Central Congregational Church officiating.
