Robert A. Ellis

 

ATHOL- Robert A. “Bob” Ellis, 52, of Wallingford Avenue, died early Thursday morning, January 11, 2018 at Leominster Health Alliance Hospital following an illness, with loved ones by his side.

Born in Athol on November 23, 1965, he was a son of the late Franklin “Sam” and Jean (Barrett) Ellis and grew up in Orange, graduating from Ralph C. Mahar Regional School in the Class of 1984.

On June 21, 1984, Bob enlisted into the United States Army, serving at Ft. Dix, New Jersey. He was honorably discharged on May 28, 1987.

Bob married Lisa M. (Thibault) on June 9, 1984 and they have enjoyed 33 years together.

Employed by the Rodney Hunt Company in Orange for over 16 years, he worked in the foundry, until illness forced him to retire.

Bob had a passion for cars and carpentry. He was a devoted grandfather who enjoyed building Lego’s with Alyvia, dress up with Aisling and watching car shows with Murphy.

He was a member of the Athol American Legion Post 102.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Lisa Ellis of Athol; children, Sheena Sisson and her husband, Ian, Amanda Cloukey, Andrew Ellis and his wife, Chrissy, and Omar Torres, all of Athol; grandchildren, Alyvia Cloukey, Aisling Sisson, and Murphy Sisson; brothers, Bill Ellis and his wife, Tina, Dana Ellis and his wife, Mary Ann , and Michael Ellis and his wife, Jill, all of Orange; sisters, Kathy Walker and her husband Mike, of Westminster, Cheri Tolppa of Athol, Cin Ellis of Florida, and Pat Ames and her husband, David, of Orange; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and inlaws.

Bob was predeceased by his father on August 19, 1995 and his mother on June 7, 1994. He was also predeceased by a brother, Thomas Ellis on January 21, 1994.

A calling hour will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange.

A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on January 20th at Witty’s Funeral Home in Orange., with Rev. Dr. Megan Leary of the Orange Central Congregational Church officiating.

Interment will follow in South Cemetery, Orange.
