Robert H. Kleinkauf
GREENFIELD- Robert H. Kleinkauf, 71, of Princeton Terrace, died unexpectedly at home on August 1, 2018.
Born in New Haven, Connecticut on May 14, 1947, he was a son of the late Albert and Emma (Fuchs) Kleinkauf and grew up in New Haven, graduating from Amity Regional Senior High School in 1964.
On July 1, 1964, he enlisted into the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Germany. He was honorably discharged on June 15, 1967.
Robert was a machinist for Kennametal in Greenfield and retired from there in 2014. He had previously worked at Erving Paper Mill, Union Butterfield, and Leavitt Machine Company.
Robert loved being outdoors and enjoyed hiking, snowshoeing and feeding the birds. He also was an avid reader.
Survivors include his daughter, Dawn Kleinkauf of Athol; granddaughters, Charissa Kleinkauf and Lindsay Leadbetter, both of Athol; and many nephews and nieces.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, William Oliver, and sisters, June Lewis and Ruth Bousquet.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange.
Interment with military honors will be held Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon, MA.
