Sherman C. Veazie Jr.

ORANGE- Sherman C. Veazie Jr., 81, of Leisure Woods, East River Street, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, September 18, 2018.

Born in Keene, New Hampshire on April 4, 1937, he was a son of Sherman C. Sr. and Virginia (Hildreth) Veazie.

Sherman moved to Stuart, Florida at the age of 14 and lived in Florida.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy.

Sherman was married to Martha A. (Colburson), who predeceased him.

Sherman worked for Piggly Wiggly Supermarkets as a frozen food manager for 10 years before retiring. He previously had worked for Frito-Lay for 20 years, was a bartender for more than 5 years and worked for a furniture store in Stuart.

Sherman enjoyed watching wrestling and loved cars.

Sherman is survived by his children, Sherman C. Veazie III (Requina) of Pelzer, SC, Amanda Kirby (David) of Greenwood, SC, Lisa Lei (Tim) of Ft. Pierce, FL, and Robbie Veazie of Royal Palms, FL; ten grandchildren; his companion of 18 years, Joyce Mason of Orange; a sister, Beverly Foster of Detroit, MI; a good friend, Henry Parkhurst of Winchester, NH

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Benjamin O. Veazie, and daughters, Julie M. Veazie and Nicole Veazie.

There are no calling hour or local services.

Private interment will be in Oakbrook Memorial Park, Greenwood, South Carolina.
