Stanley Wayne Cleveland

ORANGE- Stanley Wayne Cleveland, 64, of Summit Street, died August 12, 2017 at Athol Hospital.

Born in Shirley on November 12, 1952, he was a son of the late Stanley Webb and Charlotte (Flood) Cleveland and grew up in Turners Falls and Orange and graduated from the Smith Vocational High School, Northampton, in 1971 with a degree from the automotive department.

In 1989, Wayne married Kari (Miner) and have been together 28 years. Wayne was previously married to Debra A. (Puppel).

Wayne was a well known mechanic, especially when it came to working on Chevrolet vehicles, and had worked at several area garages. He had also worked for Brookside Salvage and Whitmore Salvage. Wayne worked over nights a couple years at Wal-Mart and also the Erving Paper Mill.

Wayne loved working on old cars, camping, hunting and going to the beach. He was also an avid fisherman.

Survivors include his wife, Kari Cleveland of Orange; a son, Brent Cleveland of Orange; daughters, Lisa Berg and her husband, Keith, and Krista Cleveland, all of Orange; a step son, Joshua Behrens and his wife, Elizabeth, of Orange; grandchildren, Kyle Cleveland, Kolby Cleveland, Allissa Behrens, Mason Behrens, Julie Behrens, Stanley Berg, Lily Berg, and Kensey Cooke; and great granddaughter, Katrina Cleveland; a brother, Daryl Cleveland of Orange; nephews, Sean Cleveland and his fiancée, Alex Barton, and Daryl Cleveland Jr. and his wife, Renee; two grandnephews; and two grandnieces.

Wayne was predeceased by his father on January 23, 2009 and by his mother on October 31, 2015.

There are no calling hours.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange.
