Stephen F. Witkowski
ORANGE- Stephen F. “Red” Witkowski, 56, of Hayden Street, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 from injuries sustained in an accident on Route 2 in Templeton.
Born in Hudson on August 1, 1961, he was a son of the late Frances and Genavie (Benway) Witkowski and grew up in Hudson and Clinton.
Red worked along with his father and grandfather for many years doing auto recycling at Clinton Auto Sales before going into business for himself.
In 1994, he married Earlene Gonyea and they have enjoyed 24 years together.
Red loved sports, especially the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox, as well as a trip to the casinos.
Known for his generosity and kindness, Red was loved by everyone who knew him.
Survivors include his loving wife, Earlene Gonyea of Orange; a son, Wayne Witkowski of Orange; a daughter, Heidi Witkowski of Gardner; grandchildren, Alanna and Stephen; a brother, Paul Witkowski of California; his father in law, Earl Gonyea of Clinton; and many cousins.
Besides his parents, Red was predeceased by two brothers, Michael Witkowski and John Witkowski.
There are no calling hours.
A memorial service will be held on May 30, 2018 at 7 p.m. at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange.
