Thomas D. Maronie
ATHOL- Thomas D. Maronie, 59, of Dana Street, died Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at the University of Massachusetts Memorial Healthcare Campus in Worcester.
Born in Athol on December 23, 1958, he was a son of Raymond and Lorraine (Ramsdell) Maronie and attended Orange schools.
Tom had worked as an assembler for Precision Benchworks in Orange, as well as working on a recycling truck which he enjoyed the most, and at Yankee Candle in South Deerfield.
Tom was a social butterfly and never met a stranger. His love and kindness to all endured him to those lucky to know him.
Tom enjoyed the Special Olympics and had earned several gold medals. He also enjoyed walking, coffee, and the annual River Rat Race. Tom loved racing and spent time at the Monadnock Speedway, as well as watching NASCAR on television.
Tom is survived by his father, Raymond Maronie, of Orange; a sister, Karen Maronie of Methuen; brothers, Terry Maronie of Oregon and Steve Maronie of North Carolina; and many nephews and nieces; as well as countless friends.
Tom’s mother died in 1991.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018 from 2-4 p.m. at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange.
There are no formal services.
Interment in South Cemetery, Orange, will be held at a later date.
