Walter B. Brockney Sr.
ATHOL- Walter B. Brockney Sr., 80, of Morton Meadows, died early Thursday morning, October 25, 2018 at Quabbin Valley Healthcare in Athol.
Born in Athol on September 13, 1938, he was a son of Burl B. Sr. and Mary Louise (Gilbert) Brockney and attended Athol Schools.
He was married to Marjorie (Dennis).
A hard worker, Walter was a roofer and had also owned and operated Brock’s Rubbish and took pride driving his “Big Blue” truck while picking up from his clients.
Walter enjoyed fishing, the lottery and keeping his yard manicured.
Survivors include his sons, Walter Brockney Jr. of North Carolina and Robert Brockney and his wife, Diana, of Athol; daughters, Bonnie Brockney and Lori Brockney, both of Florida; grandchildren, Marika, Walter III, Travis, Shane and Amy, Shawn, Jeremy, Amy, Jillian, Tyler and Sarah; several great grandchildren; brothers, Raymond Brockney and Jack Brockney, as well as Leon Noel, Richard Noel and Kenny Noel; many nephews and nieces.
Besides his parents, Walter was predeceased by a brother, Burl Brockney Jr., sisters, Edwina Griffith and Delores Brockney, and his companion of over 20 years, Joyce Lawton, who also passed this year.
There are no calling hours or services, and interment will be in Maine with his brother Burl.
