Walter D. Hall
ORANGE- Walter D. Hall, 56, of East Main Street, died unexpectedly on Friday, July 13, 2018 at Athol Hospital after being stricken ill.
Born in Leominster on September 15, 1961, he was a son of Carl and Janet L. (Hemingway) (Hall) Mallett and Edward Mallett Sr., and grew up in Orange and attended Ralph C. Mahar Regional School and Franklin County Technical School where he excelled in woodworking.
Following high school, Walter had worked for Huntington Homes in Orange, Athol Pizza, and Cambium Casket Company in Athol before settling at L. S. Starrett Company. Where ever Walter worked, he was always praised as a hard worker.
He loved being out in the woods as well as camping.
Walter is survived by a son, Bryan Hall of Orange; grandchildren, Tabitha, Gabrielle, Alexia and Angel Hall-Page; sisters, Penny Wilder of Wendell, Tina Richardson, Marie Bezio and Peggy Fillion, all of Orange; a brother, Edward Mallett Jr. of New Salem; many nephews and nieces; his former daughter in law, Joyce Hall of Orange.
Walter was predeceased by Janet Mallett on June 24, 2013, Edward Mallett on July 24, 2013, as well as a grandson, Dane Anthony Hall in 2005.
A calling hour will be held on July 25, 2018 from 10-11 a.m. at the South Athol United Methodist Church, 65 Morgan Avenue, Athol.
A service will follow at 11 a.m. in the church.
Following the service, interment will be in South Cemetery, Orange.
