Walter H. Bialecki
ORANGE-Walter H. “Brudger” Bialecki died on March 29, 2018 at Athol Hospital with his son at his side. Born on July 15, 1932, to Josephine and Walter Bialecki in Montague, he lived most of his life in Sunderland and Turners Falls. He moved to Orange in 2010 to be closer to family, and spent the last two years at Quabbin Valley Healthcare.
Walter served in the US Army in Korea prior to his 38 year career at Lunt Silversmith in Greenfield. He was a lifetime member of St. Kazimier’s Society, a member of the Montague Elks, and a member of St. Stanislaus Society. He loved sports; bowling, playing softball and golfing well into his retirement. He was an avid Colts fan, but his first love was baseball. He was lifelong fan of the Baltimore Orioles and loved attending and watching games.
Walter is survived by two sons, David (and wife Rebecca) Bialecki of Athol and Doug (and wife Marla) Bialecki of Kennesaw Georgia; grandchildren Heather Bialecki (and husband Dennis) Canning of Athol, Jeffrey Bialecki of Auburn Mass., Sabrina (and husband Trevor) Wiliford of Georgia, Sarah Bialecki also of Georgia. He had four great grandchildren including Trent and Trevor Canning of Athol, and Lucas and Craig Wiliford of Georgia. He also leaves seven nieces and a nephew.
He was predeceased by his parents, a sister Theresa, and a brother, Robert.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, April 7th from 11a.m. to 1 p.m., with a brief service at 1 p.m. at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange.
A reception will follow at the Bialecki home in Athol.
Graveside service will be held at Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery in Turners Falls at 1:30 p.m. on Monday April 9, 2018.
