Wilfred R. Brailey Jr.
ATHOL- Wilfred R. Brailey Jr., 59, of J Street, died unexpectedly at Athol Hospital on Friday, August 23, 2019 after being stricken ill at home.
Born in Keene, New Hampshire, he was a son of Wilfred Sr. and Sandra (Willette) Brailey and grew up in Athol, graduating from Athol High School in 1979. While at Athol High, he played on the football team and enjoyed woodworking.
In 1980, Wilfred married Lorraine O’Hare and they have enjoyed 39 years together.
Active in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts in his younger years, he later became a Pack Leader and Scout Master for more than 25 years.
Wilfred was a hard worker and starting in high school, he had worked at Duall Plastics, Union Twist Drill, Cambium Casket Co., and Lake Grove School in Wendell.
Wilfred was also a member of the Latter Day of Saints and was a youth leader.
An outdoorsman, Wilfred enjoyed fishing and hunting, as well as playing board games, cooking and watching movies.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Lorraine Brailey, of Athol; children, Beau Brailey, Daryl Brailey, Courtney Brailey and Lindsey Brailey, all of Athol; sisters, Christine McDonald and her husband, Frank, of Littleton, NH and Heidi Hall of Florida; a brother, Charles”Buster” Hart Jr. of New Hampshire; many nephews and nieces; as well as extended family.
Wilfred was predeceased by his parents.
There are no calling hours.
Services will be private.
