ATHOL- A. Janice (Wood) Kelton, 93, of Auburn Place, died late Wednesday evening, October 20, 2021 at Athol Hospital after being stricken ill at home.
Born in Medford on April 19, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Arline (Casavant) Wood and grew up in Medford, graduating from Medford High in 1946.
On September 20, 1958, Janice married Eugene Kelton and they just celebrated their 63rd anniversary last month.
Janice had worked at the former J.F. MacElwain Company in Athol, Parachutes, Inc. in Orange as well as a bank.
Janice loved spending time with her family, doing puzzles and antique collecting.
Survivors include her beloved husband, Eugene Kelton of Athol; a daughter, Lori Holden (Albert) of Lunenburg and Athol; granddaughters, Jennifer Krzyszczyk (Danielle) of Framingham and Kayla Holden of Athol. She also leaves great grandchildren, Octavious Thans and Raymond Thans.
Besides her parents, Janice was also predeceased by a son, Roy Kelton on September 10, 1989.
Calling hours will be held on Monday evening, October 25, 2021 from 5-7 p.m. at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday morning, October 26, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Witty’s Funeral Home in Orange.
Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery, Athol.
