WARWICK- Born in Warwick, MA in 1933 to N. Oscar and Alice (Anderson) Ohlson, Ann L. (Ohlson) Miner, age 90, died November 19, 2023 at Applewood Center in Winchester, NH.
Ann lived her entire life in Warwick. She attended the old Warwick Grammar School and then New Salem Academy where she was a proud alum. She met her husband, Allen at NSA, they were married soon after, and enjoyed 59 years of marriage.
As a teen, she was a volunteer air civil patroller during WWII. She supported her husband’s many businesses as bookkeeper, driver, machine operator and too many other roles to name. She drove school bus for 40 years and loved seeing the kids grow up and she offered her bus for field trips, swimming lessons in summer, church trips and especially enjoyed piling everyone in for Christmas caroling around town. Ann played the organ at the church for many years, was a long-time library trustee, active in Women’s Guild, PTO, and a dedicated Walking Group participant. Ann and Allen enjoyed 17 winters in DeLand, FL as “snowbirds” and especially enjoyed RV camping all over New England.
Ann leaves her three children Alana (Joe) Mankowsky, Anthony (Sheryl) Miner, and Andrea (Dale) Woods; five grandchildren Erin (Nate) Rossetti, Brian (Shannon) Miner, Michael (Amanda) Mankowsky, Jared (Kendra) Kain-Woods, and Kathryn Woods; and five great grandchildren whom she adored; and her sister Nancy King of Athol.
No calling hours.
Services will be held December 17, 2023 at 2 p.m. at the Metcalf Memorial Chapel, Athol Road, Warwick.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Warwick Fireman’s Association Building Fund or Warwick Free Public Library would be appreciated.
The family would like to give special thanks to the caring staff at Applewood Center and her many friends who visited her so frequently and made her time there much easier.
