NEW YORK, NY- Arthur Joseph Loveley, 97 of New York City died March 14th, 2025. Arthur “17” Loveley, son of Arthur Jr. and Helen, passed away in Mary Manning Home after a long, interesting life.
A native son of Orange, MA, Arthur was predeceased by his father, Arthur Jr., his mother Helen (Healy), and loving wife, Rita Virginia (Ciabattari).
He is survived by his two sons, Peter and John, three grandchildren, Caroline, Mary, and Rita Jane, and two great grandchildren, Hayden and Parker Peter.
Arthur proudly served in the US Marine Corp during the Korean War Conflict and attained the rank of corporal.
Arthur graduated from St Michael's College in Vermont in 1952. For many years afterwards he was actively involved in their basketball recruiting program. Art's knowledge, insight, and love of the game was highly regarded by many prominent figures involved in the sport.
Arthur’s business career started at Reuben H Donnelley, and he eventually moved on to Litton Industries before starting his own executive search company, Arthur J. Loveley Associates in the 1970s which he headed until retirement.
Art was known for his quick Irish wit, noticeable Boston accent, fierce love of country and all things sports related, Arthur was considered an icon by many, and will be sorely missed by all. "Every day is a gift".

There are no calling hours.
A Christian Mass of Burial will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at 11 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, 19 Congress Street, Orange, with Fr. Mark Glover officiating.
Interment will follow in South Cemetery, Orange.
