ORANGE- Arthur W. Bickford Jr., 63, of Lincoln Avenue, died peacefully Wednesday morning, May 5, 2021 at Wachusett Rehabilitation in Gardner.
Born in Cambridge on October 21, 1957, he was the son of Arthur Sr. and Florence (McCusker) Bickford and lived in Arlington before moving to Orange where he graduated from Ralph C. Mahar Regional and New Salem Academy in 1977.
Arthur worked for over 35 years at the Templeton Developmental School before retiring.
A devoted and compassionate caretaker to his mother, he was also loving to his family and a devout Catholic.
Arthur was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
An avid fisherman, Arthur enjoyed fishing with Lenny Rajanieni and his friendship with Lenny’s wife, Linda. He was a good friend with James Lucas as well.
Arthur’s longtime loyal friend, Barry Cormier, had driven him to radiation and chemotherapy appointments for two years and was greatly appreciative.
Besides fishing, Arthur also enjoyed bowling, and was avid sports fan to all sports, but especially baseball and football and loved his New England Patriots.
Arthur is survived by his loving mother, Florence Bickford of Orange; his brothers, David Bickford and his wife, Sara, of Myrtle Beach, SC, Paul Bickford and Kevin Bickford, both of Athol; brother in law, Terry Maciejewski of Athol; nephews, Wayne Maciejewski, David Bickford Jr., Craig Maciejewski, and Thomas Bickford; s niece, Shelby Bickford; and a cousin, Lynda Gutro.
Arthur was predeceased by his father on January 5, 1994 and by a sister, Nancy Maciejewski on January 15, 2014.

Calling hours will be held May 15, 2021 from 9:30- 10:45 a.m. at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on May 15th at 11 a.m. in Saint Mary’s Church, 19 Congress Street, Orange.
