Barbara A. Bacigalupo-Sawicki

ERVING- Barbara A. Bacigalupo-Sawicki, 57, of North Street, died early Thursday morning, April 10, 2025 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.

Born in Montague on May 13, 1967, she was the daughter of Daniel E. and Minnie E (Crafts) Bacigalupo and grew up in Wendell, graduating from Franklin County Technical School in 1985.

On October 19, 1995, Barbara married Richard “Rick” Sawicki Jr., and enjoyed almost 26 years of marriage together until his death on September 19, 2021.

Barbara worked as a Court Officer in Brattleboro, Vermont and previously had been a legal assistant as well as a salesclerk at Wilson’s Department Store.

An avid gardener, Barbara also enjoyed arts and crafts and crocheting.

Survivors include her sons, Christian Sawicki and his companion Nichole Glaze, of Rensselaer, NY and Kevin Sawicki and his wife Jess, of Milford; a grandson, Theodore Glaze-Sawicki of Rensselaer, NY; a sister, Susan Gordon and her husband Michael, of Erving; along with many cousins, aunts and uncles; and her very dear friend, Brenda Merritt of Vernon, VT.

Barbara was predeceased by her father on October 16, 2008, her mother on October 16, 2019, and a brother, Daniel E. Bacigalupo Jr. on April 27, 2015.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 18, 2025 from 5-7 p.m. at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange.

A funeral will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Witty’s Funeral Home in Orange, with Rev. Dr. Megan Leary of Orange Central Congregational Church officiating.
