Barbara J. Truehart

ORANGE- Barbara J. (Lawson) Truehart, 78, of Hayden Street, died peacefully early Tuesday morning, October 9, 2018 at Quabbin Valley Healthcare in Athol.

Born in Gardner on November 14, 1939, she was a daughter of the late Wallace Q. and Juliette E. (Rivers) Lawson and grew up in Orange and attended Orange High School.

Barbara married James H. Truehart in 1978, and have enjoyed over 40 years together and has lived in Orange her entire life.

She enjoyed working in her later years at Shear Design as a receptionist.

Barbara was the life of the party and had many friends, but the love of her life was her family. She was always at a sporting event cheering on her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, always putting her children first.

Barbara loved watching TV and old movies.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband, James Truehart of Orange; sons Steven Burnett (Cindy) of Phillipston and Bruce Burnett (Sheila) of Orange; a daughter, Lisa McBain (Bob) of Dalton; grandchildren, Ryan Burnett (Leigh) of Phillipston, Gregg Burnett (Keri) of Grafton, Amanda Ponusky (Tim) of Orange, Christopher Burnett of Shutesbury, Bethany McBain and Juli McBain, both of Dalton; great grandchildren, Cori Burnett, Gregg Burnett, Baily Burnett, Carter Burnett and Cali Burnett; sisters, Judith Gale of Orange and Patti Lou Farley (Patrick) of Athol; a sister in law, Geneva Lawson of Cary, NC;  and many nephews and nieces; as well as many dear friends.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Bruce Lawson and a sister Carolyn Gillis.

A calling hour will be held on Friday, October 12, 2018 from 10-11 a.m. at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange.

A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will follow at South Cemetery, Orange.
