Barbara K. Macomber

ORANGE- Barbara K. (LeMaster) Macomber, 76, of Memory Lane, died Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Western Massachusetts Hospital in Westfield.

Born in Ironton, Ohio on July 23, 1941, she was a daughter of Amos and Inis LeMaster.

Barbara was married to Terry B. Macomber, who predeceased her on March 31, 1996.

A nurse’s aide for several years, she had worked at the former Fleetwood Nursing Home (now Quabbin Valley Healthcare), as well as the former Tully Brook Rest Home, both of Athol.

Barbara enjoyed family get togethers and Bar-B-Ques, playing cards, especially rummy, and trips to Maine.

Barbara is survived by her son, Larry Macomber and his wife, Lisa, of Orange; daughters, Rebecca  Dumas of Queensbury, New York,  and Lorie Hamlett and her husband, Jim,  of Athol;  stepdaughters,  Terri-Lee Harris and her husband, Kenny, of Athol and Leann Macomber of Florida; grandchildren, Leann Gates,  Larry Macomber Jr.,  Stephanie Macomber, Samantha Macomber,  Cody Hamlett, Evan Hamlett Amy Stevens, and Crystal Macomber; several great grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces.

Besides her parents and husband, Barbara was predeceased by sisters, Maggie, Geraldine, Wanda, twin Carolyn, brothers, William and Jimmy, as well as a grandson, Michael Stevens .

Calling hours will be held on Thursday morning, March 22, 2018 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange.

A committal service will be held at 11:45 a.m. on Thursday, March 22, 2018 in South Cemetery, 585 South Main Street, Orange.
